SUMMER HOUSE PROJECT

The job spec was to build a summer house in the customers garden, somewhere here they could hide away from the Cornish sun and relax with a few drinks, or even use as a “man cave”

The customer had already bought the summer house so our project was to install the base, build and install the structure.

First was to remove the turf and dig down to good ground to ensure a good foundation base. We set out the timber frame to lay the concrete. Faheys was our main supplier.

We used 200mm of 803 for the sub base and 100mm of concrete with 8mm of mesh reinforcement.

Once the slab was complete we constructed the summer house.

The felt roof was added along with the wooden fascias

The base was secured with brackets direct into the concrete base to protect the building from strong winds.

Total build time from start to finish – 3 days.

“I am very pleased with ST Building Services. Communication was excellent. After a prompt visit to see what was needed, I received an acceptable quote, and agreed a timescale. Tristan and his team arrived on time, worked hard preparing and laying a concrete base for my summerhouse, and they cleared-up the area afterwards. I would certainly use them again in future, and would recommend them to others.” Andrew O Brian – St Newlyn East
